Chris Wilcox

DIRECTOR OF ENROLLMENT, INTERIM | CWILCOX@YORK.ORG

By Dean Partlow, Director of College Counseling

Chris Wilcox is often the first person a York School student meets during the admission process through his vital role in the Admissions Office. Chris is also there to help the graduates get vital documents to colleges and universities as our Registrar. In between these events, Chris plays an important part of a students life at York School, cheering them on as they grow and explore inside and outside of the classroom. He is found on the sidelines at soccer games, in the front row of a theater performance, or laughing with a table full of students at lunch. Chris is central to our family at York School and our community is richer because of his warmth and humor.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Chris graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Communications. His adventurous spirit led him to Chile where he was the founder of the Pichilemu Institute of Language Studies. Beyond his career in education, Chris applied his talents working for Patagonia and the local Monterey company Light and Motion.

The central coast and the Monterey Peninsula are a perfect place for Chris to explore with his two children. He is often found hiking and mountain biking our local trails and surfing our frigid waters. The enthusiasm and wisdom Chris shares with York School students comes from his spirit of adventure and his emphasis on a healthy and balanced life.

We inspire and prepare a diverse community of creative, independent thinkers.
Since 1959, York School has created an exceptional college-prep experience for our youth: inspiring them to develop intellectual curiosity; challenging them to create and try new things; and preparing them to be passionate contributors in college and in life.
